Statement of Research Interest
Prior to
formal application, applicants need to give consideration to the
specific research topic they wish to investigate. After consultation
with a member of academic staff, the applicants for the PhD should write
a brief statement (1000-1500 words) indicating the area in which the
research is to be conducted. This statement should include:
* a proposed topic;
* prior research conducted by the applicant that relates to the
proposal;
* previous publications by the candidate that relate to the proposal;
* literature references that provide relevant background;
* possible research methodologies (where relevant); and
* the name of a potential supervisor within the Faculty.

Two written
references where the referee evaluates the student, addressing in the
top how many % of students s/he rates the applicant (eg top 5%, top 10%
etc) AND name/contact details of referees so that the University can
contact the referees for more information if it is needed.

your career objectives; be as specific as you can. Where do you see
yourself five years from now?
Indicate the
benefits you expect to gain from your proposed program; be as explicit
as possible.
Research Degree
Research Proposal.
A research
proposal including title of research and a minimum 2-3 page proposal on
the research area, a proposed research methodology (if known), a
proposed timeline for the research including progress milestones and key
writings in the area.
In the case
of Health Sciences and Medicine, a statement of their research interest
is sufficient as a research area will be allocated by the Faculty.
MBA
Essays.
MBA and EMBA
Candidates are required to submit two essays (500 words each) to gauge
leadership potential.
1. Write
down a brief description of a situation in which you feel you were at
your “personal best” as a leader. The situation may be with a current or
previous employer. It may be from your professional or social life. The
situation may involve you as a formally appointed leader or an emergent
leader. In answering this question, consider what leadership actions you
took, the factors that caused this situation to be your personal best,
the outcomes of your leadership and the major morals or lesson about
leadership that you learned from this experience.
2. Indicate
your career objectives; be as specific as you can. Where do you see
yourself five years from now?
